Convert HEIC to WEBP

HEIC is the reason an iPhone photo gets rejected by a website, refuses to open on Windows, or lands in someone's inbox as a file they cannot view. Converting it makes the same photo work everywhere, with no visible change. Converting to WEBP is how you make a page lighter without making it look worse: the same picture, roughly a third fewer bytes, and no browser released in the last five years will struggle with it.

The width and height in pixels stay exactly the same — only the way those pixels are stored changes, which is what changes the file size. Expect the WEBP to be smaller than the HEIC in most cases. Use the Resize tool if you want to change the dimensions too.
