Réponse rapide
To remove the background from a JPG, upload it to ezimagetools.com and the subject is cut out automatically — no clicking around the edges. Download it with a transparent background as a PNG, or put a solid colour behind it. JPG cannot store a transparent area, so a cut-out saved as JPG needs a colour behind it. It works best on a clear subject such as a person, a pet or a product. Free, and no account is needed.

Comment supprimer l'arrière-plan d'un jpg
-
Add your JPG
Tap the upload box and pick the JPG photo you want cut out.
-
Wait for the cut-out
The subject is found and separated automatically. It takes a few seconds.
-
Choose the backdrop
Keep it transparent, or pick a solid colour to sit behind the subject.
-
Download
Save the result. Transparent cut-outs come back as PNG, because only PNG can store them.
What a JPG is
JPG (also written JPEG) is the format almost every camera and website uses. It saves space by discarding the detail your eye is least likely to notice, which is why it cannot store transparency and why every re-save costs a little quality.
Where automatic cut-outs struggle
Anything semi-transparent or very fine is hard: wisps of hair, netting, a glass bottle, motion blur at the edge of a moving subject. If the result is not clean, a photo with more contrast between the subject and the background almost always fixes it.
Questions fréquentes
Can I keep the transparent background if I upload a JPG?
JPG cannot store a transparent area, so a cut-out saved as JPG needs a colour behind it. Choose PNG on the download step if you want the transparency to survive.
What kind of JPG photo works best?
One where the subject stands out from what is behind it — a person against a wall, a product on a plain surface, a pet on grass. Fine strands of hair, chain-link fences and glass are the hard cases for any automatic cut-out, including this one.
Do I have to click around the edges myself?
No. The subject is detected automatically and the edge is worked out for you. There is nothing to trace and no selection tool to learn.
Can I put a new background behind the subject?
Yes — pick a solid colour and it is composited behind the cut-out before you download. For a photographic backdrop, download the transparent PNG and layer it in whatever editor you already use.
Why does my download come back as a PNG?
Because a transparent area has to be stored in a format that can hold one, and JPG cannot. If you choose a solid background instead, there is no transparency to preserve and the file can stay in its original format.
Is it safe to remove backgrounds from photos online?
Yes. Your photo is processed on our server and deleted automatically within one hour. We never look at it, never share it, and never use it to train anything.
