Add a watermark

Stamp your name or logo onto a picture. Choose where it sits and how strong it looks.

Quick answer

To watermark an image, upload it to ezimagetools.com, type the text you want stamped on it or upload a logo, then choose the position, size and transparency. Tiling repeats the mark across the whole picture, which is much harder to crop out than a single corner mark. The result downloads with the watermark baked in. Free, and no account is needed.

Questions people ask

How do I add a watermark to a photo for free?

Upload your photo here, type the text you want, choose a position and press Add Watermark. There is no account, no cost and no watermark of ours added to your image.

Where should I put a watermark?

The bottom-right corner is the convention and it stays out of the way of the subject. If you are worried about someone cropping it off, use the tile option so the mark repeats across the whole picture.

How transparent should a watermark be?

Around 50% to 60% opacity is the usual balance — clearly readable, but not competing with the photo. Go higher if the mark sits over a busy area, lower if the photo itself is the product.

Can I use my own logo as a watermark?

Yes. Switch to Logo and upload a PNG with a transparent background. We scale it to fit and apply the transparency you choose without touching the rest of the image.

Does a watermark stop people stealing my photos?

It does not make theft impossible, but it makes casual reuse obvious and traceable back to you. A tiled watermark is much harder to remove cleanly than a single corner mark.

Will the watermark reduce my image quality?

No. The mark is composited onto the picture at full resolution, and everything under it is untouched. The image is saved at high quality afterwards.
